One of the most beautiful little mountain lakes, the \u010cogrlja Lake, is located on the bottom of a hill, by the edge of coniferous forest giving it, during summer months, special freshness and peace. It was created thanks to the Vu\u010dini\u0107 (\u010cogrlja) family that, in the far 1919, built a dam and calmed down the Studeno source. The lake is made of five little sources that flow down in the lake from which the \u201cVede\u201d waterfall runs out and which was once used as drive for small saw-mills and mill itself and are today damaged and abandoned.<\/p>\n

Around the lake, by the forest edge, is a walking path where you can see the beauty of lakes, visit sources and if you are patient and have a good sight you will see the most beautiful lake inhabitant \u2013 the brown trout. There is also a small cave close to lake that is connected to the legend. It says that during the period of dangerous cholera, a certain woman dreamt that water from the cave should be drunk and spruce needles should be burnt. People did what the woman told them and the cholera passed away.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

The Skrad\u2013Severin na Kupi section could be nicknamed \u201cCycling from the Dobra to the Kupa river\u201d. Starting from Skrad, the source of the Dobra river, the trail first takes you across the hilly terrain of the river\u2019s left bank where you can take in the scents of numerous orchards and their seasonal fruits. Follow the trail down the Dobra river valley, a treasure trove of Gorski Kotar\u2019s many hidden gems. Keep cycling from Vrbovsko through vast beech forest expanses \u2013 the border separating the Croatian mountain region from continental Croatia. At the end of the section, you will find the Kupa river and Zrinski and Frankopan castles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
