The trail takes you on a tour of thermophilous habitats of the hop-hornbeam and the manna ash, species typical of lowland forests growing by the \u010cabranka river bed, typical beech and fir forests, and an exceptionally rare mountain pine species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this easy three-hour hike, you can get to know more than seventy tree species and approximately fifty herbaceous species typical for their communities and soil types. For now, the part of the trail that can be visited measures 1,450 metres in length and 88 metres in altitude. The entire Kupa river valley is often nicknamed the \u201cButterfly Valley\u201d for this very reason. The road will take you along the right bank of the Kupa river, through the picturesque hamlets of Ku\u017eelj, Ga\u0161parci and Turke, and the numerous rapids and beaches are perfect for taking a dip. The water-powered mill and sawmill in Zamost and the ethnological collection of the house of Pal\u010dava \u0160i\u0161a in Ple\u0161ce are also a must-visit. The development of this area is credited to Petar Zrinski, who had an iron smelting plant built in \u010cabar in 1651. The most famous structure in \u010cabar is the 16th-century Zrinski Castle, located only 700 metres from the \u010cabranka river source. A more demanding ascent awaits you on the way from \u010cabar to Tr\u0161\u0107e, but every metre crossed will be well worth the effort.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:gallery
