The family house of renowned Croatian poet, writer, journalist and anti-fascist fighter Ivan Goran Kova\u010di\u0107 (1913\u20131943), houses a permanent exhibition on his life and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The middle-class multi-storey home was built by the poet\u2019s grandfather in 1905. The museum\u2019s permanent exhibition is divided into five thematic units. The central room, with the reconstructed workspace and personal library of the poet, is dedicated to the \u201cGoran, Writer and Journalist\u201d theme. This is followed by the view into Goran\u2019s life as a partisan, his most famous work \u201cThe Pit\u201d and his unsolved murder. \u201cGoran\u2019s Homeland\u201d is the name of the unit dedicated to the history and culture of Gorski Kotar, especially of Lukovdol \u2013 Kova\u010di\u0107\u2019s \u201ceternal love\u201d and literary inspiration. The \u201cGoran\u2019s Spring\u201d unit consists of photos and documents from the eponymous poetry event held in Lukovdol since 1964, as well as a selection of books, which comprise editions of Kova\u010di\u0107\u2019s works from 1945 to 2003<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from the Vrbovsko town centre, take the main Louisiana road toward Hajdine and, at the 1.5-kilometre mark, turn right to the Litori\u0107 outing spot, where you will come across a hunting lodge. A dense forest and thick shade will soon be replaced by the view of the Kupa river and its valley from Orlove Stijene, a viewpoint overlooking some of the most beautiful landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a break, keep cycling down the route of the Cycling Trail of Gorski Kotar toward Plemenita\u0161, home to summer art workshops, then to Lukovdol, the birthplace of Croatian poet Ivan Goran Kova\u010di\u0107. Do not hesitate to stop by the distillery in nearby Rti\u0107 and have a drink of your choosing from its rich selection of exceptional alcoholic drinks. The route ends in Vrbovsko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
