Historical & cultural attractionsVicić bridge
The beginning of the 20th century in the village of Lič was marked by the construction of the Vicićeva Ulica road, then the main state road connecting the centre, from what used to be the house of Josa Vicić, to Bukova Kosa located atop of the Ličko Polje field. This road, measuring 13 kilometres in length and 3 to 4 metres in width, cost 17,000 forints to build. A bridge was also built across the Ličanka rivulet, allowing for the passing of horse-drawn carriages and people, especially in spring and autumn when Ličanka swelled.
The bridge was made from wood and mounted on stone beams, the remnants of which remain visible today. The construction work was carried out by entrepreneur Ivan Marušić from Grižane, while planning and oversight were left to senior royal forester Slavoljub Tvrdonja from Fužine. After it was inspected by the royal committee from Zagreb, the road was commissioned for traffic and transport of wood from forests.
