Museums & Interpretation centres attractionsPermanent exhibition: Wilderness with a Sea View
At the “Wilderness with a Sea View” permanent exhibition in the Zrinski Castle in Brod na Kupi, the Rijeka Natural History Museum offers visitors insight into the natural heritage of Gorski Kotar, from the Kupa river valley and the karst underground, through the most significant forest communities, mountains above the forest line, all the way up to the sky and clouds. The exhibition showcases the features, fun facts and special elements of the Gorski Kotar nature, as well as the evidence of coexistence of man and nature. The exceptionally atmospheric exhibition gives us a peek into the miniature world of mosses and lichens, the cold and dark sinkhole, the interior of a mine, the extreme weather conditions of mountains and you can ever try out artificial wall climbing, all the while discovering hidden displays or even getting to see birds and snakes in person.
The ground floor of the Zrinski Castle in Brod na Kupi houses the Routes of the Frankopans Interpretation Centre. The aforementioned facilities are an important tourist attraction of this 17th-century castle located right at the border with Slovenia.
