Route statistics
For the first 6 kilometres of this circular route, you will climb uphill toward the highest inhabited settlement in Croatia, from where you will be able to marvel at the gorgeous views of the Mrkopalj area and the remarkable Čelimbaša Ski Resort. Having reached Begovo Razdolje, turn right onto a gravel path which will lead you to the Matić Poljana Memorial Park, whose 26 stone sculptures remind us of the harshness of Gorski Kotar winters.
At the Mrkopalj–Ogulin road crossing, first turn right and then, after 500 metres, turn left into a coniferous forest, taking a narrow path surrounded by rocks up to the Široka Draga area and the crossing with the road to Novi Vinodolski. Once there, turn right for a gentle ride downhill to Mrkopalj.
