Starting from the Gornje Jelenje pass, the trail continues down an asphalt road toward Platak, where you can stop for refreshments at the Mali Dom restaurant following a 10-kilometre ascent. More uphill cycling awaits up to Cajtige, from where you can also continue to Veliki Risnjak on foot. Afterwards, embark on a well-deserved descent to the following entrance to the National Park called “Vilje”, then, 500 metres further along, turn left on to a forest path leading to Mrzla Vodica. The most picturesque part of the ride is the Suha Rečina river bed, where you will also find a Romanov sheep farm.

Stop for refreshments in Mrzla Vodica, then continue down the old route of the Louisiana road toward Gornje Jelenje and enjoy the gorgeous views of the Risnjak massif on the way. Make sure to stop at the highest point of this unique historical road – Ravno Podolje, sitting at 928 metres.
