Educational attractionsLarge Carnivores trail
In the picturesque settlement of Tršće, you will find the Large Carnivores Tourist-Educational Trail, whose goal is to educate visitors on wild animals and their protection. Gorski Kotar is home to three large carnivore species: the grey wolf, the Eurasian lynx and the brown bear.
The Large Carnivores Trail is a one-kilometre-long tourist-educational trail with life-size animal models. In addition to the wolf, lynx and bear, you can find out more about the deer, roe deer, fox, wild boar and grouse on the trail. For about an hour of hiking, you will also be able to see wild animals in their natural habitat. Each model is accompanied by an information board describing the animal. The trail is circular and 1.7 kilometres long. It is easily traversed, marked with signposts and ecological messages, and has benches for rest.
